The Lord is Your Helper

I’m not going to lie, I spent the morning so overwhelmed. I sat there thinking of everything I needed to get done, wondering if I was ever going to accomplish them:

+ cleaning out my family’s drawers- which I haven’t done for nearly a year

+ making dinner

+ ordering transcripts for a college my oldest was accepted to

… and the list goes on and on.

A mother’s job is truly never ending.

A little more about me… I have four kids (three girls, one boy), I’ve been homeschooling them for about 8 years. Yes, the school year just finished and yes, I’m already starting to plan out their new school year.

I had so much to do I told the Lord, “I just want to run away on a vacation and not have to deal with any of this right now”.

I can honestly say I’m a little tired. It has been one crazy year and it’s not even over.

As I was thinking about all of this, my 7 year old came in my room to read her Bible story with me. I picked up her Bible and began to read to her the verse of the day, and realized it was also for me.

“The Lord is my helper”.

Just like that, I was reminded I’m not alone. I don’t have to do this all by myself the Lord is my help!

I was completely overwhelmed, tears streaming, but this time it was rooted in the truth that He is so good. He met me right where I was, drowning in my to-do list, and showed me His love through my little one’s Bible story.

There will be times we all feel overwhelmed and alone, friend. So let this be your reminder that the LORD IS YOUR HELPER. He will give you the strength, He will give you the understanding, and He will give you the wisdom you need.

2 Timothy 3:17 tells us that “that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

So, if you are in the same spot I was this morning, your never ending to-do list leaving you exhausted and ready to leave it all behind, stop whatever you’re doing. Pick up your Bible and read until your heart feels encouraged. My friend, He is so faithful! Gain strength from His Word. Draw from His well that never runs dry. ❤️
