3 easy steps to study your Bible 👇🏻

Step one: read the passage all the way through.

Step two: read through the passage again, this time with a verse-by-verse commentary. Take notes in the margins!

Step three: read through the passage a third time, reading through your takeaways in the margins.

The Bible may have been written thousands of years ago, but it’s still relevant today.

Take the time to study it and learn from the words that are God-breathed, it’s amazing what you’ll learn. 💛

I’ve had a lot going on the past few years…

From job changes to cross-country moves, caring for two tiny humans to juggling a business, and everything in between.

More often than not, the one thing I tended to forfeit was time with Jesus.

I would put on a church sermon, listen to worship music, pray as my days went along, but dedicated time with Him?

Seldom.

The crazy part, is that I actually felt better when I had that dedicated time. When I soaked in the lessons from the study, when I was reading His words.

No matter what was going on, how crazy my schedule was, or even how many tasks on my to do list I knew I had to get to, when I carved out time to spend with Jesus— I never regretted it.

I’m clearly not sharing this because I’ve figured it out. Every week I make the decision to get up and spend time with Jesus first, and every day something happens - I wake up late, I didn’t sleep well, a client sends me a message (work/life boundaries what are those?! 🙈). Distraction happens, and I skip the quiet time and head straight into chaos.

And I’m exhausted in every sense of the word.

This past week, no matter what, I was determined to make that time with Jesus happen.

I set an earlier alarm.
I ignored messages.
I planned out my work in timeblocks.

Did things go perfectly? Nope. But I didn’t forfeit that time first thing in the morning, and I don’t regret it a bit.

I also feel a lot more calm and at peace. Tired, but not exhausted.

I don’t know what is going on in your life right now, but I can promise you this— if you set aside time to spend with Jesus you won’t regret it. 💛

For those of you struggling to sleep, this one is for you. 💛

A few years ago I went through a season where sleep was elusive. Anxiety and fear took over the moment my eyes closed, leaving me tossing and turning through the night.

My cousin gave me verses to read before bed, all reminders that He promised us rest and sweet sleep.

So, I’m passing some along to you.

If you find yourself struggling to sleep tonight, read through these verses and thank God for the sweet sleep He gives. 🤍

Sunday service was about being teachable, but some

Sunday service was about being teachable, but something in me hyper focused on “fool”.

A fool thinks he knows better than God.
A fool thinks he can do the same things but get a different result.
A fool thinks that everyone should adjust to them.
A fool is unwilling to learn— not unable.
A fool keeps going back to the same things he walked away from.

And oh how I don’t want to be labeled a fool, but I think lately I probably have been.

So how do we break out of it?

+ be in your bible
+ listen to Godly counsel
+ learn from the past
+ make the adjustments

And remember to ask Him to make you teachable. 💛
